What we collect

When a trade business signs up (the onboarding wizard, before any login exists): business name, phone number, email address, and a business/home address (address line, city, postcode). The address is collected as a fraud and trust signal for the marketplace — only the city is ever shown publicly; the full address is never displayed on a storefront.

When a customer requests a quote on a trade business's storefront (the instant quote widget): the customer's name, email address, phone number, and optionally a job address. This data belongs to that trade business — it's a sales lead for them, not something Ready Web uses for its own marketing.

We do not collect payment card details, health data, or any special-category data.

Why we collect it

Onboarding data is collected to provision the account and website (performance of a contract with the business owner) and to deter fraudulent/spam signups (legitimate interest). Quote-widget data is collected on behalf of the trade business to deliver the lead they requested (performance of a contract between the business and its customer, with Ready Web acting as the technical processor).

How long we keep it

Unclaimed accounts: if a business signs up but never verifies its email and claims the account, all of its data — including any uploaded logo — is automatically and permanently deleted after 48 hours. This runs on an automated schedule, not a manual process.

Claimed accounts and quote leads: we currently default to a 24-month retention period from the date of last activity. This figure is a placeholder pending formal legal sign-off, chosen for consistency with the same default used elsewhere in this product family — not yet the result of a data-protection-impact assessment. It will be revisited before this product handles data at meaningful scale. You can request earlier deletion at any time (see below).

Cookies

Ready Web does not run any analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts today — there is no Google Analytics, no ad pixels, no third-party tracking of any kind. The only cookies set are essential session cookies from Clerk, our authentication provider, used solely to keep you signed in. Because only strictly-necessary cookies are used, no cookie-consent banner is shown — one will be added if that ever changes.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of infrastructure processors to run the service: Vercel (hosting, file storage for logos), Neon (database hosting), and Clerk (authentication). None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share quote-lead data with anyone other than the trade business it was submitted to.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to: tell you what data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or provide a copy of it in a portable format. To make a request, email hello@readyweb.trade with the email address you signed up with (or that you submitted a quote request with). We aim to respond within 30 days. If a trade business wants to request deletion or export of its own account data, the same address handles that.

Children

Ready Web is a business-to-business and business-to-consumer service for adults arranging trade work. It is not directed at, and should not be used by, children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
